As the cool weather drops, I was rummaging through my closet when I found my father’s old military jacket. It caused to me to reflect on the stories he has shared from serving in the Navy during Vietnam, and how we have been designed for specific missions.
He navigated an LFR 525 ship that would run up the rivers in order to prepare the area for combat troops. Their ship carried 6 officers and 137 crew. It was an old WWII “rust bucket” that should have been decommissioned but still had a mission to complete because it designed specifically to reach the unreachable terrain.
